If
raining
prior to playing first hole, match will be postponed and rescheduled:
call 703-851-3332 to confirm. If raining prior to completion of
fifth hole, current scores will be temporarily recorded with remaining
holes to be rescheduled. If raining after completion of fifth hole,
match will be stopped with current scores recorded as final based
on last complete hole played.
Final league standings will be based on lowest average score in
each division with lowest scoring foursome per division qualifying
for championship tournament. Lowest scoring golfer per division
wins championship title in both league and tournament play. Tie
score after nine holes will result in additional hole(s) being played
until winner determined.
Maximum of fourteen clubs allowed per golfer. No metal spikes permitted.
Based on league/tournament schedule, foursomes to be started every
10 minutes with "best ball" being played after each golfer has chance
to tee off, based on order of the draw. Otherwise "match play" rules
apply.
Golfers responsible for recording their own scores and reporting
them to league office by phone or e-mail within 24 hours of match.
If club strikes ball more than once in single stroke, stroke counted
and penalty stroke added.
Golfer may not alter or improve the lie, area on intended swing
or line of play.
Golfer may drop within one club length to nearest point of relief
when immovable obstruction, such as fence post interferes with golferŐs
stance or swing or if ball in casual water/abnormal ground conditions,
excluding hazards.
In the event of water hazard, golfers may either play ball as it
lies or may drop any distance behind hazard under penalty of one
stroke.
If ball lost outside water hazard or out of bounds, penalty stroke
added and shot replayed.
If golfer believes ball unplayable outside water hazard penalty
stoke added and shot replayed
Golfer may replace ball without penalty if moved by another golfer
or another golfer's ball.
If golfer's ball is stopped by another golfer's ball at rest, golfer
may play ball as it lies without penalty.
Golfer may remove loose impediments, such as stones or leaves and
temporarily remove ball if it may assist another golfer.
Failure to observe rules of etiquette will result in disqualification
from match. Golfer must immediately leave course or ejection with
forfeiture of league/tournament fees will result. In league play,
three disqualifications of any golfer during same season will also
result in ejection with forfeiture of fees.
All other rules follow judgment of golfers and/or league commissioner
under USGA guidelines.
